Gratitude Story from Lisbon, Portugal

If you wanted to send a thank-you note to someone in your life, who would it be, and what is one of your best memories of that person? "I would like to send a thank you note to my older brother Alexandre for all the support he has provided when I was young.  It's not simple to choose between all the important people I care about nowadays, but I recognize he played a major role in me becoming the person I am today. “I remember when I was about fifteen or sixteen years old, it was awesome to have him coming for the weekend at our parents’ country house. We'd always shared the attic while growing up, and his return offered us a great opportunity to catch up and talk about everything that was going on in Lisbon. Alexandre was in the music industry—a guitar player starting his own career. I wasn't exactly sure of what I wanted to be at the time and lacked confidence. What happened is that he noticed my indecisiveness, and during the summer holidays asked our parents to let me go on a road trip with him.  Even though our parents were very conservative, they agreed. “That was the turning point. Suddenly we were camping outside and meeting new people regularly. It challenged my temper, challenged my ability to stay calm in new situations. We'd listen to a lot of music in the car, stop by a beach to take a swim, and make a couple of sandwiches for dinner. I had the opportunity to amaze myself in quite a few moments during that period of time, and even though my brother and I undoubtedly knew each other, it was the chance to start understanding each other in a more meaningful way—both our thoughts and aspirations—while making our way down the coast. Back at home, I told my family about some of the highlights of the trip, but noticed something more significant. The boy in me had changed. I was eager for more, and I felt brave. It was with that mindset that I entered university the following year and followed my path until today.” (Lisbon, Portugal) . . . . .#gratitude #thanks #positivevibes  #parentslove #motherlover  #heartsign #storytelling #gratitudeisthebestattitude #kindnessmatters #inspiring #parents #digithanks #gratitudedaily #storyteller #lisbon #portugal
